3holdio – “Free Improvisation“

The improvisation trio 3holdio follows its own philosophy, in which the musicians rely only on minimal conceptual guidelines to spontaneously transform them into music. Through regular rehearsals and performances, the trio has developed a common language that lies somewhere between contemporary music, chamber jazz, and experimental music – it is avant-garde, but with a certain sense of playfulness.

The musicians take a risk by fully relying on their creativity and inspiration. The starting point for their musical conversations is always a “word” – the expression of a poet, a predetermined keyword, or even the flash of inspiration from one of the three musicians. No concert by this free improvisation trio sounds the same; each one is entertaining and guarantees an exciting journey of exploration and balancing act.
